Karcher SC2.500 Plus / SC4 Steam Cleaner

What is the difference between the SC2.500C and SC2.500C Bundle?
This is the same machine as the standard SC2.500C but we have added extra floor cloths, hand cloths and 4 x Brushes as you will surely need them. Steamers use lots of cloths to clean an area well.

Aesthetically the same as the Karcher SC4, the Karcher SC2500C Steam Cleaner is for those who will use a steam cleaner on a more frequent basis. The main step in functionality is the ability to clean non-stop with the twin tank system. This eradicates the down time when you run out of water with a normal steam cleaner. This can waste 20 minutes or more as you wait for the steam cleaner to cool allowing for the safety valve to open. Combine this with the fill time and re-heat and you have quite a delay! The Karcher SC2.500 Steam Cleaner has two tanks, the first a removable easy fill (0.8L) tank, and second, the fixed (0.5L) tank. This is filled on a continuous basis by the removable tank.

The fixed tank is powered with the standard 1500 watt heater unit, creating an almost instant use feature and when cleaning will provide non-stop steam cleaning until you have completed all of your cleaning tasks. This brilliant feature is ideal for users with larger areas, multiple tasks or larger homes.

The SC2.500 also benefit's from the new improved floor tool which improves cleaning efficiency by up-to 35% with more cloth contact with the steam during the cleaning process.

Also included with the SC2.500 Plus is a Bathroom Cleaning Microfibre Cloth Set, consisting of 2 x special soft microfibre-velour floor cloths for cleaning bathroom flooring, 1 x microfibre abrasive cloth for removing stubborn limescale / soap residues & 1 x microfibre polishing cloth for polishing mirrors & other smoth surfaces.

How does it work? Steam combined with the bar pressure (psi) gets under the dirt and emulsifies grease allowing you to wipe away any residue soilage. The steam action also kills bacteria and therefore sanitising the surface.

To get the most out of a steamer it is all about clean the surface quickly and often rather than restorative cleaning, Stick to this and all cleaning tasks around the home will be a breeze. The Karcher SC2.500 will work on most surfaces including, floors, walls, chrome work including taps and showers, granite tops, upvc and plastic, windows, oven and hobs, as well as mattresses, carpets and upholstery.

Allergy - A steam cleaner is a one stop solution for removing germs, virus, bacteria and mould. It will also kill bed and dust mites and their eggs, therefore greatly helping people with allergies and asthma.

Floors - The steamer is good on ceramics, laminates, sealed wood, carpets and quarry tiles. If you intend to use on unsealed wood you may need to double the cloth on the floor tool.

Walls - Great for both glazed and unglazed tiles, porcelain and most hard wall surfaces. With the small round brush you can also restore grout work with ease.

Granite - A steam cleaner combines all the action you require for the kitchen work tops, cleaning, degreasing and sanitising in one fast action. Use a microfibre cloth as you go for a final wipe down and your surfaces will sparkle.

Chrome - (taps and showers) Cleans and shines and with regular use keeps the scale under control. Also great for removing the residue soap and shampoo's that build up.Windows-Add the optional window tool accessory to steam and squeegee in one fast action. Just use a microfibre cloth to detail the window afterwards for a complete professional result.

Ovens and Hobs - If you use the steamer on a regular basis it will keep the oven under control. The grease and fat from foods goes on in layers and therefore will need to be removed in layers. If you leave the grease for a long period the heat will carbonise the residue, this is very difficult to remove. The steamer is great on cooker tops and hobs. The turbo brush and brass brush are also very useful. The steamer is also very good in the difficult to reach areas.

Carpets - One of the most asked question on Cleanstore 'can i steam clean my carpet?'. Steamers are good for a light surface clean, spot removal (including upholstery) and sanitising, as well as killing any bugs (this also includes mattresses). What they will not do is a deep restorative clean, however they keep a carpet in clean condition quite nicely, but as stated earlier it needs to be a quick clean on a regular basis.

Hint & Tips:

Always have some microfibre cloths handy, they speed up the whole process, increase the cleaning result and deliver the streak free cleaning finish.

Have enough cloths (floor and hand) to change on a regular basis for optimum results (check out our accessories tab, for a selection of SC2.500 accessories)

If you use a Microfibre cloth you should not use detergent when machine washing them.To keep the best results, descale your unit on a regular basis depending on the water hardness in your area.

If you intend to use an iron now or in the future you need the Karcher SC2.600 or SC5.800 as they have the removable front socket to allow an iron to be attached. Ironing with a steamer can be up to 50% quicker.

In Summary - The major advantage for this unit is the twin tanks and non-stop operation if you have multiple tasks, a large area or home. It will save time over the smaller units in the range. It is also worth looking at the SC2.600 & SC5.800 units when making your buying decision.
